Corporate Social Responsibility
The Colcom group contributes in multiple ways to the community, and in particular through regular assistance to registered organisations in Zimbabwe that are caring for the elderly, the infirm and orphaned children, and that are working on animal welfare.
As part of this, during every Christmas/New Year period 5% of the proceeds of Colcom ham sales are donated to registered charitable organisations in various forms related to their particular needs, such as diverse equipment, food or funds.
Triple C Pigs also assists intending new farmers with training and advice, provides attachments to University/College students, and runs the Norton Country Club which includes a golf course and other sporting amenities.
In a separate scheme, Colcom has supported the executive interaction initiative of the Zimbabwe National Army, which is an annual event designed to facilitate dialogue between senior corporate executives and the Army.
The Colcom Kitchen (see also separate section on this website) is a modern training centre at the Colcom complex and is used for demonstrations and training by Colcom’s experienced Chef for a wide cross-section of customers and consumers.
The Colcom Holdings group employs close on 1 000 people. In addition to an on-site Nurse at Colcom’s factory in Harare, Staff Wellness Programmes are run.
