500g Pork Mince
1 medium Onion finely chopped
2 slices Bread, soaked in water
3 cloves Garlic, crushed
Salt and Pepper to taste
1 Tbls Mushroom or Onion Soup Powder
Sunflower oil for cooking
2 Onions, thinly sliced
2 cloves Garlic crushed
1 can Chopped Tomatoes
½ tsp Castor Sugar
1 tsp Worcester Sauce
1 tsp Mustard
100g Mushrooms, wiped and sliced
½ tsp Mixed Herbs
Salt and Pepper
- Mix together the pork mince, onion, egg, bread, garlic, mushroom or onion soup powder, salt and pepper in a bowl. Divide the mixture into 8 portions and roll into balls then roll in flour. Fry in sunflower oil, turning until browned and cooked through. Keep warm in an ovenproof dish.
- For the Barbecue Sauce: Melt the butter in the pan. Gently fry the onions, garlic and sliced mushrooms for a few minutes. Add the tomatoes, Worcester sauce, mustard, herbs, sugar and salt and pepper and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Adjust seasoning.
- Pour the barbecue sauce over the Frikkadels and garnish with chopped parsley.
- Serve with pumpkin and potato or brown rice.
